Meditation

Each morning begins with meditation to cultivate mental clarity, concentration, and inner peace. Practices include:

Yoga Practice

Each morning begins with a traditional hatha or vinyasa yoga with options for beginner and advanced levels. The evenings include a restorative yin yoga or aerial yoga for deep release and spinal traction. Each day follows a special theme to unify the other teachings of meditation and breathwork. Classes are beginner friendly and do not require any previous training or advanced level of fitness. 

Group Sharing

Let’s get to know each other and connect on a deeper more personal level. How are you feeling? Why are you here? What are you struggling with in life? How we can modify this course to best serve your individual needs. How can you integrate the wisdom and experience of this course into your daily life back home to create a happier healthier life?

Breathwork Training

Examine ancient pranayama and modern breathwork techniques with a more detailed look behind their history, philosophy, energetics and anatomy. Follow the development of breathwork over thousands of years from the yoga sutras to emerging biohacking techniques enhanced by modern scientific research.  

Kirtan and Sound Healing

Kirtan is the perfect union of breathwork and meditation, a mystical journey of inner divinity. Kirtan can be sung without committing to any belief in Hindu Gods, and enjoyed simply as universal energetic vibrations, connecting you with the very source of life. Kirtan can be wild with ecstatic dancing, or passive with sound healing Tibetan bowls. Classes may feature live musicians, audio tracks, or guided call and response.

Excursions 

Each afternoon includes a special excursion to a famous tourist destination like Bingin Beach, Padang Padang Beach, Dreamland Beach, Suluban Cave, or Uluwatu Temple. You will also visit a luxury ocean view detox centre with multiple saunas, cold plunge, and sound dome. In the evening you can explore special events such as ecstatic dance and contact improv (additional $10). Or you can skip these outings and simply relax at the resort's beautiful ocean view infinity pool, connecting with other retreat guests, enjoying personal time, journaling, or doing additional self-practice or meditation in the yoga shala.   

Personal Time

In the evening most guests relax by pool enjoying the glorious sunset view and tranquil stargazing while chatting with other retreat guests, sharing stories, supporting each other with shared knowledge, healing through empathy, making deep connections, and forming life long friendships. You may also use the yoga shala for additional self practice, meditation, or journaling.

Sauna & Cold Plunge

  • As a special treat, this course includes 1 free entry to the Istana, a world class spa featuring an ocean view infinity pool, hot and cold plunge, three saunas, a sound dome for kirtan chanting, and nightly bonfire for meditation.
  • You can also try Sensory Deprivation Tank ($33 for 30 min), Cryotherapy ($65 for 15 min), Hyperbaric Chamber ($64 for 40 min).

Additional Treatments

The ULU Yoga Team provides expertly tailored treatments with profound therapeutic benefits, aimed at fostering holistic well-being, alleviating pain, reducing stress, and facilitating energetic healing. Every night there are special events at other yoga and wellness centers or on the beach like ecstatic dance, cacao ceremonies and various conscious gatherings.

Certificate of Attendance

All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from ULU Yoga which is a RYS-500 hour Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance and YACEP Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. Members of Yoga Alliance can log this retreat as Additional Training hours. A 4-day Retreat counts as 20 hours. A 6-day Retreat counts as 35 hours.

Breathwork Facilitator Certification

As a special bonus, all retreat members will receive ULU Yoga’s complete 50 Hour Online Breathwork Facilitator Certification course. Each full day of onsite retreat counts as 7 hours. If you join a 4 day Retreat (20 hours), you must complete 30 hours of online studies. If you join a 6 day Retreat (35 hours), you must complete 15 hours of online studies. The online studies include videos, readings and quizes related to breathwork practices, anatomy, history, and philosophy. You must also submit a 60 min video, demonstrating your ability to teach a variety of breathwork practices.

This retreats feature the same celebrated family of instructors from the ULU Yoga Teacher Trainings, but in a more relaxed setting where you can connect with them on a deeper personal level. Guest Instructors and Online Training

Teaching online, and in Bali for the June Retreat, is our most honored guest Dr. Kalpana Karia. Widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost scholars of yoga, Kalpana has received awards from the Prime Minister of India, British School of Yoga, and countless more prestigious institutions for her lifetime of achievements. Kalpana began intensive studies as a young child in 1964, training with Sivananda Saraswati, BKS Iyengar, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Sadhugu, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and many more masters. For over six decades Kalpana has authored several books on yoga, produced a yoga tv series, and given thousands of seminars. In addition to yoga, Dr. Kalpana worked for many years as a radiologist in London, and operates one of the largest orphanages in Africa. Kalpana has been a close member of the ULU Yoga Family since 2018, teaching in Bali, Thailand and daily online classes via Kenya and India.
