      Location

      • Koh Phangan, Thailand is a magical paradise with pristine beaches, crystal clear waters, tropical jungles, mountains and waterfalls. This course takes place at Bounty Resort in Haad Yao, which has three perfect beaches, lush gardens, swimming pool, delicious restaurant, ocean front accommodation and ocean view yoga shala. Nearby are many shops, resorts and other yoga centres with fun activities. 


      Accommodation

      • Bounty Resort features: Deluxe sea view rooms with large balconies. Fan bungalows have great sea view hammocks. Fan rooms and Standard ac rooms are more modern with partial sea view balconies. Shared rooms have two double beds. All rooms have free wi-fi and private bathrooms. You can also just pay tuition and book your own accommodation. Nearby are many options like Haad Son Resort and High Life Bungalows.

      • PPackages include a healthy breakfast smoothie bowl with homemade muesli, yogurt and fresh tropical fruits, plus green juice and tea. For lunch and dinner there are many wonderful options at the resort, on the beach and close by serving western, thai and asian food, plus several vegan and vegetarian restaurants. Some favorites include Loco’s Pizza, Pura Vida, Bubba’s Roastery, Big Mountain, Taboon, Karma Cafe, Eat Co., and Sati Pot.

      • Each day ULU Yoga would like to bring you somewhere special for lunch, dinner, site seeing or a special event. There are so many wonderful experiences such as ecstatic dance, kirtan, sound healing, sauna, snokeling, night market, live music, massage and more. Entry fee and transportation not included.

      COURSE CLASSES

      Aerial Vinyasa

      • Each morning you will practice a meticulously crafted sequence developed over five years based on the feedback of thousands of students. Classes mix aerial with traditional yoga, pilates, acrobatics and physical therapy. The practice is suitable for beginners, but includes advanced options to test your limits. 


      Aerial Asanas 

      • Analyze individual poses to master correct technique and form. Study alignment, adjustments, transitions, sequencing, common mistakes, safety precautions, beginner and advanced variations, assessing student needs. Also practice teaching the poses to gain experience.


      Teaching Practice

      • Each day you will practice teaching other students and get feedback to gain experience and confidence. For your final exam you will design an original 75 minute class and teach it to one other student. Don’t worry if you have never taught before. Just do your best and have fun.


      Aerial Restorative

      • Each day you will receive a 1 hour aerial restorative healing session to decompress the spine, relax the body, release tension and rejuvenate your soul. These classes mix aerial with meditation, physical therapy, yin yoga, sound healing, essential oils, mantras and other techniques. 


      Aerial Acro

      • Mix aerial and acro using swings to suspend flyers while you and your partner safely find balance and alignment. The swing gives you support to easily master basic poses like bird, folding leaf and throne. You will also explore advanced poses and creative new variations. (1 class)


      Aerial Choreography

      • Learn to synchronize aerial sequences in pairs then coordinate as a group to choreograph an artistic performance mixing aerial, acro and dance. Then use body paint and UV lights to create a blacklight show. It’s a lot of fun, but also challenging to work together in harmony. (1 class)


      Bamboo Tripod

      • Learn to make a bamboo tripod and do aerial on the beach. Take pictures flying over the water. Receive instructions on how to organize groups, give event demonstrations, conduct short performances and boost your social media. (1 class)


      ONLINE CLASSES

      Video Modules

      • Before starting this course you must complete 15 hours of online studies. ULU Yoga provides videos for anatomy, philosophy, teaching methodology, class design and physical practice. For the physical practice you can do either regular hatha/vinyasa yoga or aerial yoga. 


      Zoom Classes

      • As a special bonus you may join ULU Yoga’s daily live classes on zoom. There are morning and evening sessions to accommodate international students. Classes are a mix of Q&A and physical practice covering all subjects from our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training.

      Certificate

      • ULU Yoga is a 500-hour registered school with Yoga Alliance (198078). After successfully completing this course you will receive a certificate of completion. Yoga Alliance members may register this course as Additional Training and receive a Certificate of Continuing Education. 


      Aerial Swing

      • On this course you will train with the ULU Yoga Swing. The ULU Yoga Swing has soft cushion padding to provide greater comfort and support than regular aerial hammocks, which can burn and bruise the skin. ULU Yoga also has regular Aerial hammocks if you prefer to use those instead.


      Level and Style

      • This course is open to all levels. Students are encouraged to take breaks and skip . ULU Yoga focuses more on correct alignment, safe practice, teaching skills and exploring the limits of what beginners can achieve with creative workshops. ULU Yoga does not teach very advanced poses or silk style tricks like wrapping, dropping and spinning. We even keep inversions to a minimum.

      Cody Gavin Pizer 

      • Cody (South Africa) RYT-500, lead ULU Yoga Trainer. Cody  has been Teaching Yoga Globally for several years, and instructing on multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings as a lead and Senior Instructor.  He has trained in India and Thailand on Multi-style Vinyasa, Yoga, Hatha, Ashtanga and Yin Teacher Trainings, and attended multiple movement, anatomy and mediation workshops throughout Asia.  He has certifications in aerial and SUP yoga. Additionally he has several years experience in Qi Gong, Primal Movement, Contemporary Dance, Calisthenic training and a black belt in Taekwondo. 
      • Cody has taken the role of lead instructor on numerous Yoga Teacher Trainings for over several years. He specializes in Human Anatomy Related to Movement, Yoga, Buddhist and Classic Philosophy, Yoga Asana Analytics and Movement Clinics, Guided meditation and self meditation training, as well as Vinyasa, Aerial, Primal, Restorative and SUP Yoga. He is a long-time meditator, movement artist, vegan and intermittent faster plus has written books on mindfulness, meditation and Flow. 
      • Cody has led multiple mindfulness retreats, mixed movement arts and flow workshops in Bali, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia plus taught at the famous Yoga Barn in Bali and Blue Indigo in Cambodia. Cody has an uninhibited spirit, which directs his life and inspires others to grow beyond themselves. He has a passion for movement and mindfulness which connects disciplines and translates into his holistic approach to classes. Cody feels that it is his life purpose to share his knowledge and inspire others through yoga, movement and philosophy. Guiding his students to discover more about the miracle and magic that is life.


      Janaina Mendes

      • Janaina (Brazil) has completed over 1000 hours of Yoga Teacher Training including multiple 200, 300 and 800 hour YTT’s. Other qualifications include Acro Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Thai Massage, Water Therapy and Reiki. She has been travelling around the world and sharing her knowledge of Yoga and body movement practices, either by teaching at studios, hostels, echo villages and healing centers or by volunteering for social projects to help bring the Yoga teachings to those in need. 
      • Janaina’s teachings focus on correct and safe alignment while empowering students to look inwards and expand their perception. With her warm and giving nature, her intention is to create a space where students can develop a deep connection and understanding of themselves through a journey of love and compassion. As she considers every human being unique in their form of expression, her work is dedicated to encourage people to find their authenticity through their chosen practices. 
      • Janaina’s calm, centred energy and teaching style facilitates a powerful depth to her classes. She is passionate about combining different bodily expressions and practices with the awareness and wisdom of Yoga, as she perceives the body as a vehicle for deep revelations and revolutions.       What to Bring

      • ULU Yoga provides aerial swings, yoga mats, printed manuals and drinking water. You should bring or buy here a water bottle, notebook, sunscreen, sandals, bug spray and raincoat. Plus buy a SIM card at the airport or internet. 


      Payment & Registration

      • After you pay your deposit please fill out the registration form, complete your pre-course work and pay your balance before arrival. The deposit is non-refundable 5 days before the start. This is flexible if travel plans change due to COVID-19.

      • This course takes place at Bounty Resort, 85/1 Moo 8, Haad Yao, Ko Phangan, Surat Thani 84280, Thailand. For travel info and ferry tickets visit ferrysamui online. 
      • From Bangkok, fly to Koh Samui Airport (1hr, $100-150), then take a ferry to Koh Phangan (30min, 400THB), then take a taxi to Bounty Resort (20min, 200THB).
      • A cheaper option is from Bangkok, fly to Surat Thani Airport (1hr, $40-60), then take a ferry to Koh Phangan (4.5hrs, 400THB), then take a taxi to Bounty Resort (20min, 200THB).
