Location

  • Koh Phangan, Thailand is a magical island with dozens of pristine beaches, crystal clear waters, lush green nature, mountains and waterfalls. This course takes place at Bounty Resort in Haad Yao, which sits between three perfect beaches. Bounty Resort is a small, quiet, family run business with an ocean view yoga shala, swimming pool and delicious restaurant. Nearby are several shops, yoga centres and healthy restaurants all within walking distance.

Accommodation

  • Bounty Resort features: Deluxe sea view rooms with large balconies. Fan bungalows have great sea view hammocks. Fan rooms and Standard ac rooms are more modern with partial sea view balconies. Shared rooms have two double beds. All rooms have free wi-fi and private bathrooms. You can also just pay tuition and book your own accommodation. Nearby are many options like Haad Son Resort and High Life Bungalows.

Food

  • Packages include a healthy breakfast smoothie bowl with homemade muesli, yogurt and fresh tropical fruits, plus green juice and tea. For lunch and dinner there are many wonderful options at the resort, on the beach and close by serving western, thai and asian food, plus several vegan and vegetarian restaurants. COURSE STRUCTURE


Yoga Practice

  • Each morning and evening ULU Yoga will guide you through a mindful meditation and pranayama journey, followed by physical yoga practice. The styles include traditional hatha yoga, modern vinyasa flow and restorative yin yoga. Special attention is given to correct alignment, adjustments and modifications for beginner and advanced levels. 


Analytics

  • Analyze the form and function of key poses from each category of asana. Learn about their common foundation and how to build upon them in order to achieve advanced forms. Get rooted in detailed alignment of core asanas and explore some advanced poses. Learn also how to modify asanas and adjust students to serve their specific needs.


Aerial, Acro, SUP Yoga

  • You will receive 5 acro, 5 aerial, and 5 SUP yoga classes. You may use the aerial swings and SUP boards in your free time to practice more, plus the beach is perfect for acro yoga. All three styles are fun, but also challenging and require balance and control to master. These classes are one of the top features of the course and provide great skills to get jobs.


Workshops

  • Special workshops and lectures include yoga for injuries, prenatal and postnatal yoga, hands-on adjustments, working with various props, sequencing, lesson planning, class design. Try also beach yoga, sound healing, kirtan, chakra awakening, kundalini, guided meditation and pranayama breathwork, yin and restorative yoga.


Teaching Practice

  • Practice teaching everyday to gain experience and develop confidence. Learn teaching skills, cueing, sequencing, modifications for different ages and levels, plus other tools to succeed professionally. You will also design and teach a 75 min class each week followed by detailed feedback and analysis to help you grow and develop into a confident instructor. 


Anatomy

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the structures and principles underlying each movement and of yoga itself. See how specific muscles respond to the movements of the joints with biomechanics; how alterations of a pose can enhance or reduce effectiveness; how the spine, breathing, and body position are all fundamentally linked; and the various bodily systems. 


Philosophy

  • Cultivate an authentic yogic lifestyle and discover your true self and nature of reality through ancient texts and practical modern day wisdom. Study the meaning, history and evolution of yoga, nature of self/soul, identification system, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s 8 limbs, nadis, chakras, states of consciousness, ayurveda, karma, gunas, ego, tantra yoga.


Online Studies

  • This course includes 250 hours of live classes and video modules covering all topics. There are daily live classes on zoom where you can interact with other students and teachers and ask questions. These classes are recorded so you can watch later. The times vary to accommodate different time zones. Plus there are pre-recorded video modules.

    • Over the years ULU Yoga has grown into a big family so that each subject is taught by a trained specialist. Most instructors are 500 hour Registered Yoga Teachers with Yoga Alliance with many years experience leading teacher trainings. 

    Janaina Mendes

    • Janaina (Brazil)has completed over 1000 hours of Yoga Teacher Training including multiple 200, 300 and 800 hour YTT’s. Other qualifications include Acro Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Thai Massage, Water Therapy and Reiki. She has been travelling around the world and sharing her knowledge of Yoga and body movement practices, either by teaching at studios, hostels, echo villages and healing centers or by volunteering for social projects to help bring the Yoga teachings to those in need. 

    • Janaina’s teachings focus on correct and safe alignment while empowering students to look inwards and expand their perception. With her warm and giving nature, her intention is to create a space where students can develop a deep connection and understanding of themselves through a journey of love and compassion. As she considers every human being unique in their form of expression, her work is dedicated to encourage people to find their authenticity through their chosen practices. 

    • Janaina’s calm, centred energy and teaching style facilitates a powerful depth to her classes. She is passionate about combining different bodily expressions and practices with the awareness and wisdom of Yoga, as she perceives the body as a vehicle for deep revelations and revolutions. She believes there is some form of Yoga for every person, and it is her goal to try and help students find it. Janaina’s passion for Yoga and body expression shines through in everything she does.

    Cody Gavin Pizer 

    • Cody (South Africa) RYT-500, lead ULU Yoga Trainer. Cody  has been Teaching Yoga Globally for several years, and instructing on multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings as a lead and Senior Instructor.  He has trained in India and Thailand on Multi-style Vinyasa, Yoga, Hatha, Ashtanga and Yin Teacher Trainings, and attended multiple movement, anatomy and mediation workshops throughout Asia.  He has certifications in aerial and SUP yoga. Additionally he has several years experience in Qi Gong, Primal Movement, Contemporary Dance, Calisthenic training and a black belt in Taekwondo. 

    • Cody has taken the role of lead instructor on numerous Yoga Teacher Trainings for over several years. He specializes in Human Anatomy Related to Movement, Yoga, Buddhist and Classic Philosophy, Yoga Asana Analytics and Movement Clinics, Guided meditation and self meditation training, as well as Vinyasa, Aerial, Primal, Restorative and SUP Yoga. He is a long-time meditator, movement artist, vegan and intermittent faster plus has written books on mindfulness, meditation and Flow. 

    • Cody has led multiple mindfulness retreats, mixed movement arts and flow workshops in Bali, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia plus taught at the famous Yoga Barn in Bali and Blue Indigo in Cambodia. Cody has an uninhibited spirit, which directs his life and inspires others to grow beyond themselves. He has a passion for movement and mindfulness which connects disciplines and translates into his holistic approach to classes. Cody feels that it is his life purpose to share his knowledge and inspire others through yoga, movement and philosophy. Guiding his students to discover more about the miracle and magic that is life.

    Manjeet Mathur (online)

    • Manjeet (India) started yoga and self awareness path in 2009. He completed his 200-Hr, 300-Hr, Yoga Therapy Module 1 & 2 MultiStyle Yoga TT with Parimukti yoga in India. He also has certifications in Meditation teacher training and Iyengar yoga. Manjeet has taught 3000+ hours in 50 plus yoga and meditation teacher trainings specialising in Hatha yoga, Meditations, Practical Yoga Philosophy, Chakras, Pranayama and more! He has a very Human approach to Yoga and believes in personalizing practices for everyone.  Emotional Awareness and making a light, playful space also are Manjeet's speciality.  

    • His classes can range from discussions on our Shadows (related to parents, money, relationships, life experiences) to singing Mantra circles to Dance Therapy practices to blissed out Asana or Meditation sessions! Manjeet has led Chakra retreats, Dance Yoga trainings and Yoga Sharing circles & workshops in Bali & India. He has a Calming and Grounded presence which inspires others around him to come back to Simplicity and Ease of living.  

    • His highest purpose is to keep creating Space and Peace in his daily life and invite others to also keep choosing their Higher Self, Intuition and Connectedness with all that exists. Manjeet’s passion for Yoga has led him to becoming the face of a Modern Mystic Yogi - grounded in self practice and also embracing life and the joys it offers. He loves to motivate others through Self reflection, structured and improvised yoga poses and embodying the qualities of eastern heart and western mind balance.

    Kehkashan Nadeem (online)

    • KK (Pakistan) has 20 years of yoga experience. KK’s first yoga training was more than 1,000 hours long over a 6 month period followed by 3 months of volunteer teaching in 2001. Since then she has practiced every single day despite a busy family life with two kids. KK has completed a 500-hour Advanced YTT in Nepal, Hot Yoga TT from Absolute Yoga Academy, Advance Teaching Skills at the Yoga Expert Academy, Aerial Yoga TT at ULU Yoga & Sky Yoga Level 2 TT in Bali. 

    • After training with ULU Yoga KK became famous for bringing aerial yoga to Pakistan and is featured on the radio, TV and magazines. Since then she has led several yoga teacher trainings with ULU Yoga in Thailand and Bali. Since 2001 she has practiced every single day despite a busy family life with two kids. Each year KK attends more trainings to improve her skills in various styles. She thanks yoga for giving her such an amazing meaningful life and thanks her instructors and students for allowing her to share what she loves.

    • KK’s passion for improving oneself through yoga is infectious. She is a master at taking you through the paces, drawing connections between poses, giving you the confidence to try tricky things & get into advanced poses eventually.       • I had the best experience with Ulu! The setting was on an island in Thailand- the resort was right next to the beach, and the weather was beautiful!!! There was a breakfast buffet everyday, which was amazing. And the beach (Haad Yao) was so picturesque. There were several instructors, and they were all amazing and knowledgeable!  I loved how they put an emphasis on safety and how the poses are for each person's body. The course was a lot more intense than I had anticipated- but you learn a lot, and you get a lot of teaching practice. I took the 200hr multi-style course, so I had the pleasure of experiencing SUP yoga (on a paddle-board), acroyoga, aerial yoga, yin, hatha, vinyasa, and even a taste of ashtanga.
